There are eight labs in total, each with a corresponding lab assignment. The lab component is worth 10% of your final grade.
In order to receive a grade for each lab assignment, it is mandatory to complete the assignment during the scheduled lab period. For instance, if your lab period is on Monday from 8:30 am to 11:20 am, your lab work will be graded within this time slot. As the lab assignments are available online, you have the flexibility to work on them in advance. Please note that late submissions will not be accepted. However, if you provide the lab instructor with a valid reason, late submission maybe considered at the discretion of your laboratory instructor.
After you complete the coding portion of the lab assignment, your lab instructor will also ask you to answer several questions related to the lab topic. Your lab grade will be based on punctual attendance, successful completion of lab assignments, and oral exams.
Beakdown of each lab marking: Punctual Attendance 1 Excellent 4 Satisfactory 3/2 Poor 1 Unsatisfactory 0 ------------------------------- Total: 5
If you cannot attend your regular lab section due to illness, interviews, funerals, etc, let your lab instructor know prior to (or the day of) the lab.

1.Personal illness. 2.Death of immediate family member. (death notice or documentation from funeral home) 3.Family emergency (doctor's or councillor's note on official stationary) 4.Team absences (coach's letter) Work or vacations, or "I have a midterm today" are not valid reasons to miss labs. Please note that attendance includes showing up on time and staying in the lab until you have completed.
